Honoring a fallen hero.

“It is not how these officers died that made them heroes, it is how they lived.” —Vivian Eney Cross, Survivor I wanted to take a moment to share final thoughts and photos now that Deputy Coates’ memorial services have ended. It was an honor to be a part of the services held to honor Deputy […]

Honoring Deputy Brandon Coates

“When you are born, you cry, and the world rejoices. When you die, you rejoice, and the world cries.” ~Unknown Yesterday was the beginning of Deputy Brandon Coates’ Memorial Services. I had the honor of attending his visitation/viewing alongside Jason’s squad. It was a very long day filled with many emotions, many of which could […]

Remembering Deputy Brandon Coates

“Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgment that something else is more important than fear.” – Ambrose Redmoon Last night I received a call that no spouse of police officer wants to receive, thankfully it was not “the call” I’ve always feared, but one that has left me moved. Jason called […]

Linda - This is beautiful. My son in law also worked with Brandon and was his friend. My daughter called me last night, to tell me about the same call that you received.. My deepest sympathy and prayers goes to his wife, family, his brothers and friends. He was a Hero

dave conner - I am a (now retired) LEO from Scotland, who was royally treated by members of OCSD when I and my family first vacationed in the Orlando area back in ’94. We truly were among friends, although we had never met any of them before then.

I, and all past and present LEOs (and families) worldwide, share your loss and your pain.

God Bless the fallen officer and his family – and ALL law enforcement officers everywhere.

Karen Young - Amanda, This is beautiful. I have known your husband for at least 8 years and he has always made me laugh. He isn’t on my side of town much anymore since he went to TAC.I work at the B.P.East 50 and Bonnieville overnights. But, Jason was there for me when ever I would put a call in. He and James, Robbie and Jeff. They would stop by and check on us. I know so many leo’s thru the store and I pray for their safety everyday. This year my daughter married a state trooper out of Tampa. And I couldn’t be more proud. Tell Jason he is in my prayers and I miss seeing him and I said to please stay safe. And I am so sorry for his squad’s loss. And my prayers go out to Deputy Coates family.

Angela Pine Mills - My brother, D/S Jonathan “Scott” Pine, was the most recent OCSO deputy killed in the line of duty, in February. I’ve had this photo as my Facebook cover photo since shortly after his death. Thank you for this beautiful photo. I hope there will be no more need for mourning badges.

Nine.

“Some of God’s greatest gifts are unanswered prayers.”  ~Garth Brooks I can’t believe my baby girl turned nine yesterday. Yes, nine. As she reminded me this past week — she’s just one year shy of being in “double digits”. We went out yesterday on her birthday and took some photos…here’s my birthday girl. Looking back […]

Nicole Summers - Looks like a very special day! Your daughter is adorable.

One year later…

“If you focus on what you’ve left behind you’ll never see what lies ahead.” – Gusteau (Ratatouille) As we have been dealt some tough news this week about the baby, I admit the news is only that much more challenging as it came just days before the dreaded month of October. Typically, October has been […]
