Starting the photobooth tradition

We’re starting a new tradition. As of this month we’re going to take the kids to the photobooth on the monthly anniversary of their birthdays. We’re going to take this time to not only have fun but to look back at the photos taken monthly to see just how much the kids grow over the...

An Angel Among Us

I suppose I’ve had a few people accuse me of being a sentimental person. This past week I was reminded that it’s now been fifteen years since Jason’s mother passed away. It’s amazing how important of a role this one person who I never knew has played in my life. I’ve been told how much...

December 21, 2007 - 8:55 am Phyllis Hanson - From one photobooth geek to another- I LOVE IT! There's something so exciting about standing there waiting for the strip to drop into the slot and the laughter that always ensues. ! I love my old photobooth pictures from childhood. I'm sure your kids will love theirs as well!

2007 Christmas cards

I thought I’d let Hope do the honor of presenting the Kern family’s 2007 Christmas cards…

Last year we had a lot of fun making our own Christmas cards so we decided to take another stab at making new ones this year. Of course it’s fun to get Hope involved in creative projects and she certainly...

December 21, 2007 - 8:37 am Phyllis Hanson - They are absolutely beautiful! As someone that also makes her cards every year, I can appreciate the work that goes into them. But, the worst thing is- each year you have to top what you did the previous year. Just wait until 14 years down the line. ;o) Kudos for your hard work and I wish you all a blessed and Merry Christmas! P

December 28, 2007 - 12:23 pm Joanna Aton - aww that is just adorable! Hope (and u) did a great job!

December 31, 2007 - 11:13 am Aimee Alich - I absolutely love the cards! Too precious! Happy New Year to you all!!

I realize it’s been a while since I’ve updated everyone, but understandably we’ve been quite busy. My how time flies! This past week we’ve had a lot to celebrate – Hope’s 6th birthday and Jaylen is now 6 weeks old. It’s amazing how much life has changed these last few months!

November 26, 2007 - 7:50 pm Mandy Bee - That's so sweet how close Hope is to her brother. My sister and I were only born two years apart, so I was too young to remember when she was born. I wonder if I was just as excited. And I thought it was funny that I read this sentence, "He’s beginning to get a lot more expressive" as, "He's beginning to get a lot more expensive." :D Silly me.

December 14, 2007 - 4:19 am Tanya - Sorry I could not be ther for her big 6 party! I am so glad she is enjoying being a big sister still. She is a very special girl and Jaylen will also be a very special boy. Tell them both I said hi and that I love them. Tanya

Sharing a few videos

We thought we’d share a few videos with you all. It’s been cute watching Hope and Jaylen the first ten days since he was born. Hopefully this helps those of you who live further away and aren’t able to see the two of them that often.

A blessing in disguise

I never would have imagined I’d spend five days of the last week since having Jaylen in the hospital. In fact, the first two nights home with the little guy went really well and we presumed he was doing just fine, that is until we went in to the routine doctor’s visit. Originally we thought...
