photobooth sillyness

As many of you may be aware, I’ve been taking Hope & Jaylen to the photobooth every month on the anniversary of their birthday since Jaylen was about 2 months old. We’ve managed to keep up with it for all of 2008 and now for the first half of 2009. Hope still has a blast...

Relaying

This past Friday I spent the night at Relay for Life at Timber Creek High School in honor and support of those who have battled cancer. As most of you are aware, Jason’s mother passed away in 1992 from Leukemia. Though I, nor my children, never knew his mother – her struggles with cancer certainly...

Celebrating the Life of Richard Kern

Though we’ve been saddened by the loss of Jason’s father last Thursday, we have since come to celebrate his father’s life. On Sunday a visitation/wake service was held in Fort Branch, Indiana with close family and friends. It was a beautiful service where we all found ourselves remembering Jason’s father. I hope to have a...

“Let us be silent so that we may hear the whisper of God.” ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
Shortly after 1 p.m. today Jason’s father passed away peacefully, surrounded by several of us who cared for him most. Sadly we lost his father today – a man who should have had so much more life to live...

Getting ready for a tough trip

Euripides once wrote:
“Lucky that man whose children make his happiness in life and not his grief, the anguished disappointment of his hopes.”
We received the call this morning that we’ve honestly expected for a while now. Not that we’ve been looking forward to this call, but knowing that Jason’s father has been in poor health...

Hope's New Smile

Hope lost her two front baby teeth today.

Her smile has changed, forever…still as beautiful as ever.

As much as I adored her baby girl smile for so many years, I must admit I was as anxious as she was to lose her two front teeth. Not that I ever wanted to see that baby girl smile...

January 22, 2009 - 12:07 am Nando - Usually, when kids lose their baby teeth, they look a bit on the unfortunate side...but not Hope. Hope looks so adorable without her "two top front ones." The funny part is when the adult teeth grow out and she'll look like a rabbit. Hehe! An adorable wittle wabbit.

January 22, 2009 - 11:51 am Erica Reynoso - Gosh, time flies! She looks totally cute.

January 22, 2009 - 8:44 pm Meg - WAAHH! Too sweet. Thanks Amanda!

January 22, 2009 - 9:31 pm Aunt Terri - Hope, You are just like your cousin. Noah had his two front teeth come out one right after the other so he was two top toothless too. I can't believe how fast you are growing up. Love you lots and lots and lots.

January 23, 2009 - 4:10 pm Colette - Congrats!

January 25, 2009 - 4:28 pm katie - SOOO cute. I love the video. I really like her letter to the tooth fairy too, she has really good handwriting, wow. Take it from me time does fly! my daughter is ready for her drivers permit!!!!!! yikes!

January 25, 2009 - 5:55 pm Barbara Peterson - Adorable. I still remember her as an infant in a stroller in my office with you, Amanda. Can't believe that much time has passed so quickly.

A year of photobooth

I must admit that a year ago when we began the monthly trips to photobooth that I wasn’t so sure if I’d be able to keep up with the idea…I mean, I am just a little busy these days. Here we are a year later and this evening I proudly compiled the photobooth pictures so...

November 2, 2008 - 11:27 am Tanya - I can't believe he is growing up so fast. As I had said a while back in a e-mail it just seemed like yesterday I was holding him as a newborn!. I sure wish I was healthier and in a better condition with the job situation etc that I could have been down there. I sure do miss them. I look at the pictures and hear their giggles and wish I was there. It makes me happy and sad. Hopefully things will turn around fast. Give them both hugs and kisses from me and Ashley and tell them that we love them and wish we could be there. Love you guys!
