Maddux

“For this child I prayed and the Lord answered my prayer.” ~Samuel 1:27

Last month we took a trip to meet our newest nephew Maddux. We arrived when he was just three days new and I continued to spend time photographing him until he was six days old. Nearly six years ago his big sister Brylie was the 3rd newborn I had ever photographed…so approximately 125 newborns later – I’d have to say I was a lot more prepared and enjoyed learning all of his little cues to work around his needs. It’s hard to believe that tomorrow he’ll be one month old…time sure is flying. Chelsie & Josh I hope you all enjoy the moments we managed to capture with your little guy…I know we have all been praying for this little guy to join our family. I surely feel blessed to help you all capture some of his first memories.

Moments with Dylan’s family

This past month I had the opportunity to meet 4 month old Dylan’s family. He had the most adorable smile and cutest hair.;)We did his photos indoors and met a little later with his family so I could take some photos of his brother, sister and family. I hope you all enjoy the moments captured with their family. Dylan, thanks for making me smile with your adorable personality…you’re by far one of the cutest babies I’ve met this year!

The Kennedy family

This past month I had the opportunity to photograph the Kennedy family. With 5 year old triplets and their big sister…they were a blast to capture moments with. With a president’s last name they also all were named after a president and I adored how every time we got them together as a group to take photos the kids knew their birth order. We shared lots of smiles, silliness and laughter and I imagine you all will enjoy the moments we captured with their family. Amy I hope your family and friends enjoy the pictures…thank the kids for making the afternoon so much fun for me!

Gracelyn

This past month I had the pleasure of meeting the first newborn I’d photograph in 2014… Gracelyn…she also happens to be the 125th newborn I’ve worked with since beginning this journey doing newborn photography in 2008.  Gracelyn and her family are a tad bit special to me because her big brother Caiden was born just over 4 years ago and was one of the very first angel babies I photographed for Now I lay me down to sleep. I know she’s going to grow up knowing just how special he was and how she has a big brother looking out for her in heaven. The more I admire her first photos I continue to see the resemblance she has to his sweet face. She’s absolutely adorable…I’m in love with those chubby little cheeks. She was born at 9lbs 9oz! Of course she has the best big sister, Kaydence who is now 2 years old adores her baby sister. What a blessing Gracelyn is…congrats Ashley, Paul and Kaydence…I’m so happy for your family!

Alex

Last month I had the opportunity to meet a pretty inspring teenager, 13 year old Alex Schon. I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to photograph him as a part of some work I’m doing for local pediatrician, Dr. Q. I’ve spent many years taking my own children to her office to be cared for and have admired Alex’s picture on the wall with a special note from his parents to Dr. Q. – I didn’t know much about him then, but boy have I been so inspired and touched to help capture a few moments for his family and for Dr. Q and learn more about his inspiring story. Alex was born at 34 weeks with Cloverleaf Syndrome, a rare craniofacial syndrome. He was not expected to survive his birth let alone live to be a teenager – but he’s now 13 and has endured countless surgeries and medical challenges but he’s become quite independent, is such a smart kid and has the best personality and spirit!

Alex’s family began The Alexander Foundation to support other families who have children with this rare condition. If you’re interested in learning more about his inspiring story or wish to support the cause visit his web site:

Alex thanks for making me smile…you were so much fun to photograph and I can’t wait for your family and Dr. Q to see the rest of your photos! Keep inspiring us…the world needs more kids with spirits like Alex’s!
